Republican Valley Arts Council Print

The Republican Valley Arts Council (RVAC) is a Non-profit Corporation Act that was formed in 1993 for the purpose of acting as a coordinating education and service organization to foster, promote, encourage and increase the knowledge, appreciation, and practice of the arts in the Republican Valley of Nebraska.

The RVAC sponsors a variety of programs and entertainment during the year. In the past, RVAC has sponsored such events as the Missoula Children's Theatre performances in the fall, humanity programs held at the Opera House and at the Starke Round Barn, and The Colorbox Art Exhibit in the gallery of the Opera House.

Upcoming events sponsored by the RVAC include story-tellers at the Starke Round Barn during Septemberfest and, during Street Car Days, a "wandering" magician, sidewalk chalk art, and face painting. The Missoula Children's Theatre's "The Little Mermaid", performed at the Opera House on August 7 and 8, is also sponsored in part by RVAC.

A membership "tea" is hosted each spring by members of the RVAC board, which includes a wonderful breakfast furnished by board members and entertainment that is always interesting and enjoyable!

RVAC welcomes new members at all times - membership dues are $15/individual or $20/couple.

RVAC board meetings are held on a regular basis to discuss and make plans for upcoming events and special activities. Officers of the RVAC board are Connie Bostock, President; Pat Crook, Secretary; and Rose Holthaus, Treasurer. Other board members are: Doris Arneson, Elaine Beezley, Charlotte Bell, Patty Hutton, Brenda Knehans, Gwen Lewis, Bev Meyer, Teri Theobald, and Harriett Zade.
