The Republican River meanders near Red Cloud and Guide Rock and provides scenic beauty, irrigation, and recreation. Anglers, in particular, enjoy the area, catching largemouth bass, panfish, and channel catfish among others. Red Cloud and Guide Rock are also located a short distance from two large lakes: Lovewell State Recreation Area and Harlan County Reservoir.

Diversion Dam
The Diversion Dam is located approximately 2 ½ miles west of Guide Rock. Fishing takes place on the dam side and in the canal.

Indian Creek Pond
Indian Creek is located 1 mile south of Red Cloud and is known for channel catfish, blue gill, and large mouth bass. Anglers can also access the Republican River from this small pond.
