Hunting Print
The area around Red Cloud and Guide Rock has been described as some of the "best hunting in the Midwest" by hunting enthusiasts from across the country. The landscape is quite varied, offering a variety of habitat for game, such as plentiful wild turkey, pheasant, quail, dove, rabbit, and whitetail deer. From the banks of the Republican River to wooded bluffs and open pastures, the area is a haven for hunters of all levels. There are three public or state areas for hunting:

Elm Creek - located 3 miles south of Cowles.
Indian Creek - located 1 mile south of Red Cloud.
Narrows - located 4.5 miles east of Red Cloud.
